| Annotation | FSUE “RFNC-VNIIEF” has developed software for three-dimensional numerical self-consistent modeling of dynamics of a high-current electron beam and propagation of electromagnetic waves. The created software is implemented for computational theoretical support of the development of new and modernization of existing units of high-current acceleration equipment. The software allows simulation of electron beams with a current density of the order of units MA/m^2, as well as extended structures of the order of ten meters in length. The software consists of functional modules for preparing initial data, performing calculations and processing calculation results. A function module is a subroutine that implements a physical model or data processor. The paper presents software architecture and describes sets of module functionalities. Test results of function modules are given on the example of klystron output resonator simulation and simulation of high-current electron beam transportation in vacuum area. |
| Keywords | software, three-dimensional numerical self-consistent modeling, dynamics of a high-current electron beam, finite-difference time-domain method, the “particles in cells” method. |
